What is an eyebrow tattoo ?

If you dream of perfectly shaped eyebrows but don’t want to spend time every day in front of the mirror with an eyebrow pencil, eyebrow tattooing might be the ideal solution for you. 🙂

Eyebrow tattooing is also called permanent makeup – our goal is to achieve an effect that looks as natural as professionally applied makeup, but without the need to repeat the makeup process every day.

Eyebrow tattooing techniques

Powder Brows

One of the most sought-after techniques in the world of permanent makeup, creating a soft powdery gradient in the eyebrows that, after healing, forms an ombré shadow effect. The intensity and definition of the brows are tailored to each client’s personal preference. Whether subtle, bold, thick, or thin — there’s nothing we can’t create with this technique.

Microblading

A technique where individual “hairs” are tattooed into the subcutaneous layer, perfectly mimicking the natural growth and direction of your eyebrow hairs. It is the most natural form of tattooing, creating a so-called hyper-realistic appearance. It is not recommended for very oily, thick, or porous skin. It is done manually, and therefore does not last as long as, for example, powder brows.

Permanent Makeup During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Permanent makeup can be applied during both pregnancy and breastfeeding. The tattooing technique is performed very gently and superficially, with a maximum depth of 1.2 mm. Natural micropigments free from chemicals and heavy metals are used; these are hypoallergenic and safe.

Permanent makeup tattooing has no negative impact on breast milk or fetal development during pregnancy. However, it’s important to note that hormonal changes in the mother’s body may – but do not necessarily – affect how the pigment is absorbed into the skin.

If some of the pigment fades after the initial session, it is commonly corrected with a touch-up within 3 months. This phenomenon can also occur in women who are not pregnant or breastfeeding – it is a natural part of the healing process for permanent makeup.

Healing and the final pigment retention are individual and depend on several factors – such as the body’s internal state, external influences, and post-treatment skin care. When the area is tattooed twice (initial session + touch-up), the result can remain beautifully vibrant for up to 5 years.

Contraindications

(When You Should Not Undergo Permanent Makeup)

  • Use of aspirin or other blood-thinning medications (must be discontinued 28 days prior to the procedure with your doctor’s approval)
  • Use of antibiotics (wait at least two weeks after finishing the treatment to allow proper pigment retention)
  • Cold, flu, or nasal congestion
  • High blood pressure – the procedure is allowed only if the condition is managed with medication
  • Diabetes – if wound healing is poor or insulin is used, it’s advisable to consult a doctor beforehand
  • Elevated intraocular pressure – eyeliner tattooing is not recommended
  • Thyroid disorders – the procedure should be discussed with your treating physician
  • Immune system disorders – for example, after chemotherapy, tattooing can be done no earlier than 6 months after treatment
  • Herpes (cold sores)
  • Keloid scar
  • High blood alcohol levels or drug use
  • Any infectious diseases
  • Skin conditions in the tattoo area (e.g., eczema, moles, melanomas, etc.)
  • Eye inflammation (only relevant for eyeliner tattooing)

Important recommendations before PMU application

  • If you have undergone laser removal of permanent makeup, a new procedure can be performed no sooner than 3 months after the last removal session.
  • PMU is recommended at least 5 weeks after:
    • botox or hyaluronic acid application,
    • laser facial treatments,
    • chemical peels,
    • or other invasive procedures in the facial area.

Frequently Asked Questions About Eyebrow Tattooing

The eyebrow tattoo procedure is preceded by a consultation, during which we agree on the requirements for the final effect.

The process usually requires multiple visits to our clinic. At the first visit, our certified specialist will apply several layers of pigment using a micro-needle.

A correction is generally needed for every tattoo, usually performed 5 to 9 weeks after the first session. During the correction, the tattoo is “touched up” according to preferences. We offer one free correction session for eyebrow tattooing.

Eyebrow tattooing is usually not painful and can be managed without numbness using lidocaine, which we are, of course, happy to apply if you experience any discomfort.

The entire eyebrow tattooing procedure takes approximately one to two hours, depending on the complexity of the tattoo, skin type, and the area of the eyebrow being tattooed.

Permanent makeup longevity is individual. It is influenced by several factors such as health condition, immunity, skin type, and many others, which is why eyebrow tattoos last different amounts of time under the skin for each person.

The average duration is typically 12 to 18 months.

The powder brow tattooing process begins with a consultation, during which the specialist discusses your expectations, desired shape, and shade of the eyebrows. After carefully considering your preferences and analyzing your face, the specialist will sketch the eyebrow shape to give you an idea of the final result. Once you approve the shape and color, the actual tattooing begins. The procedure is performed using a special device that gently deposits pigment into the upper layer of the skin. The result is a soft, shaded effect that looks natural and elegant.

The entire process takes approximately 2 to 3 hours, depending on the complexity of the desired result.

The resulting powder brows usually last 1 to 2 years, depending on skin type, lifestyle, and aftercare following the procedure. During this period, the pigment may gradually fade, which is a natural process. To maintain color intensity, regular touch-ups are recommended, typically about once a year.

Powder brows are a great choice for those looking for a long-lasting solution for beautiful, well-groomed eyebrows without the need for daily makeup.

The microblading process begins with a consultation with a specialist, where your preferences regarding the shape and thickness of your eyebrows are discussed. Our artist Katka will then sketch the eyebrow shape based on an analysis of your face.

Once the sketched shape is approved, the actual procedure begins. Microblading is performed using a fine pen with tiny needles that deposit pigment into the upper layer of the skin. This process allows for the creation of thin and precise lines that mimic natural eyebrow hairs.

The result is very realistic and looks natural even up close. The procedure takes approximately 2 to 3 hours, including preparation and sketching.

The entire process takes approximately 2 to 3 hours, depending on the complexity of the desired result.

The final effect of microblading can last from 12 to 18 months, depending on skin type, care, and lifestyle. Over time, the pigment naturally fades, so it is recommended to have a touch-up procedure approximately once a year to maintain the intensity and shape of the eyebrows.

Microblading is an ideal solution for those who desire perfectly shaped and full eyebrows without the need for daily makeup. This technique provides a long-lasting, natural look that enhances your face and boosts your confidence.
