What is lip augmentation?

Lip augmentation is a non-invasive or minimally invasive cosmetic procedure in which a special material is injected into the lips to enlarge them. Hyaluronic acid is applied using gentle injections, and the entire procedure usually takes only a few minutes.

How does the lip augmentation procedure work?
Prior to the actual procedure, we have a consultation with the doctor who will inject the hyaluronic acid into your lips. Our doctor will explain the procedure, choose the appropriate technique and the amount of material that will be used. The procedure itself usually takes 15-30 minutes and is performed under local anesthesia to minimize pain.
After the procedure, the lips may be swollen and tender, which is normal and usually subsides within a few days. Results are visible immediately, but the final effect will settle after a few weeks.
Risks and side effects
As with any cosmetic procedure, there are some risks with lip augmentation. The most common include swelling, bruising, or asymmetry, but these can often be corrected. It is important to choose a skilled professional who is experienced enough to minimize the risks.
Is the lip augmentation procedure painful?
During the actual injection into the lips, the client may experience mild pain, but the contents of the hyaluronic acid contains the numbing agent lidocaine, which acts as a local anaesthetic, so that the next application is almost painless.
How long will the filler last?
A day or two after the procedure, the lips may be a little swollen. The durability of the procedure is 6-12 months, however, after the next application the durability and effect is extended a little longer.
