Do you have any questions about Botox wrinkle removal? Contact us!
You must know that Botox is a product that is used to smooth wrinkles. But there are many myths and half-truths about Botox.A very popular myth is, for example, that the patient does not look natural after Botox application. This myth is really just a myth. Corrections can be done really subtly so that the treated areas look natural and soft. The aim of this article is to give you a basic overview of Botox, its benefits and possible risks that could (very rarely) occur during application.
What is Botox and how does it work?
Botox (Botulinum toxin) is made up of neurotoxins produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. These neurotoxins, when injected, act on the nerve endings in the areas where they are injected, paralysing the muscles (immobilising them) - and this in turn leads to the appearance of wrinkles in the area of the injection.
Can I trust the quality of the product you are applying to me ?
You may come across high quality products on the market, but there is no exception to the lesser quality ones that may not provide the desired effect or durability.
Our goal is for you to leave satisfied - and to love coming back to us again. That's why we only use the highest quality, time-tested products that you can trust.
How does muscle immobilization cause wrinkles to appear?
Repeated muscle contractions (for example, when a person laughs or frowns) are one of the causes of facial wrinkles. Botulinum toxin temporarily blocks the nerve connections that lead to the muscles in the treated area - causing the patient to be unable to "contract" these muscles after application.
What is the difference between hyaluronic acid and botox?
Once injected, Botox paralyses the muscles - causing them to become immobile - and this subsequently locates wrinkles in the area of the injection. As a rule, it is used on the upper areas of the face, such as the forehead, around the eyes and so on. Hyaluronic acid is used as a filler for areas (usually on the face) that have lost volume with age due to natural fat loss or muscle loss, bone laxity, etc. Hyaluronic acid is injected into these areas where the aforementioned loss has occurred, filling them in and returning the face to a supple and smooth appearance. Hyaluronic acid is usually used wherever this volume needs to be replenished, i.e. especially for wrinkles around the mouth, lip augmentation (and contour change) and cheeks that have lost their fullness with age.
Although Botox and hyaluronic acid are different substances, designed for different use, in practice we like and very often combine them into one treatment and always individually, based on the needs of each patient.
What areas do you treat with Botox?
- Wrinkles on the forehead
- Wrinkles between the eyebrows
- Bunny Lines (occur on the nose, primarily when the patient smiles)
- "Smoking wrinkles" around the mouth
- Wrinkles around the eyes
- Marionette lines (between temple and cheeks)
What is the price of the treatment?
The application of Botox is at the same timerelatively accessible. In our country, this service costs 100 Euros for one of the treatment areas. The price includes the original, quality product and administration by a certified doctor.
Do I need to prepare myself before I get Botox?
It is generally not recommended to take blood thinners (such as "Warfarin") and anticoagulants prior to treatment, which can cause bruising at the treatment site after application. Also, it is not recommended to drink alcohol for at least 24 hours prior to application.
What is the application procedure?
To apply Botox, we use a thin needle to inject a small amount of botulinum toxin into the area to be treated. Multiple sites can be treated with Botox during a session. This is an outpatient procedure, lasting around 15-30 minutes depending on the number of areas we are treating. On livepatient's preference, we can locally numb the application site - in this case the treatment is almost painless.
Is there any policy to follow after Botox application?
After botulinum toxin application to reduce swelling and prevent bruising, we recommend:
- Avoid physical exertion for 24 hours after application.
- Do not swallow for 3 hours after application.
It is also very important that the patient does not push or scratch the treatment site for 12 hours after the treatment - otherwise the botulinum toxin could get outside the treatment site. Apart from the above recommendations, there is no need to make any special adjustments to your daily routine.
Are there potential risks or complications of Botox application?
Side effects after Botox application are very rare and occur minimally in practice. If such problems do arise, they usually subside within two days. Side effects include:
- Pain , swelling , redness or bruising at the treatment site
- Flu-like symptoms
- Headaches
- Irritated stomach (indigestion)
- Temporarily drooping eyelids
- Irritation or redness of the eyes
Are there groups of people who should avoid Botox?
Botox is relatively safe in most cases. Nevertheless, it is not recommended to be applied to the following patients:
- Patients being treated for neuromuscular disease
- Patients with droopy eyelids
- Patients with flaccid facial muscles
- Pregnant women
- Women who breastfeed
Of course, not every type of treatment applies to the above mentioned categories - it is always better to contact us and consult your health condition individually. We will be happy to advise you.
How long does it take for the effects of Botox to take effect?
As a rule, it takes a few days for the effect of botulinum toxin to take effect - which then lasts approximately three to six months, in individual cases even longer. Subsequently, it is necessary to repeat the application again.

In fact, we believe that a person and their health is a complex whole, which is why we provide comprehensive care in addition to symptomatic outpatient treatment - because we know that removing symptoms will not cure a person.
Medirect has been here for you for almost 10 years, but it is these last years that have been dedicated to our development in the field of aesthetic medicine services. This field, like any other medicine, is very demanding. It takes a lot of effort, study, practice and hard work - to be able to provide you with the highest level of service.
Reviews
I recommend the doctor and Medirect with all my ten. I have had a narrow upper lip since I was a little girl and I contacted the clinic with a very small inner tube. They understood, explained and I finally feel the way I wanted to see myself in the mirror since childhood.
